We Support CityKidz To Help Impact Futures
It’s been an intense couple of months. The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic affects everyone and we just want to take a minute to check in and let you know how we are responding.
United in the Fight
It is challenging times like this that we are reminded of why we at CityKidz fight. Our community needs all of us – and we need each other – now more than ever. During this time of uncertainty, we pray for Peace for you and all your family. We’re in this together. We love you, we’re thinking of you and we’re praying for you.
The pandemic has been tremendously hard on many of the children and families in the CityKidz community and we know that a lot of loving work lies ahead to help heal their hearts and reignite their hope. Every day, we’re discovering new ways to deliver our programs, nurture our relationships and deepen our impact, but we can’t do it without your support.
On April 4th, CityKidz adapted their traditional programs and created an alternative way to bring Faith, Hope and Love directly to our children and their families. They launched a new online programming with the creation of a new website called BigRedBus.ca. This is a place where the children and families can visit to watch a new show each week that features the CityKidz casts, familiar faces, and includes songs, stories, crafts and interactive games plus contexts. They also take the time to address the very important emotional and spiritual needs of our children and the big emotions they are feeling during this pandemic.
CityKidz changed their weekly in-person home visits as well, however they now do connection calls providing an opportunity for them to check-in, encourage and provide support. They also initiated mailing tokens of hope, provide further information and support to all of the families and their kids as our world continues to change. They are adapting and designing new enhanced programming that will contain variations of the programs and projects that we have supported over the years. CityKidz is ensuring that they are meeting the most relevant and important needs of our children and families. We look forward to sharing those with you in the future.
CITYKIDZ programs have one focus, helping each and every child achieve their full potential. This is one more reason why we at Team Bush are on a mission to raise at least $20,000 this year to support CityKidz programs. We need your help to reach our goal.
