Spring is Springing! Yay! I just came inside from shooting a video outside and WOW! It’s beginning to feel nice out! Yes, I realize that when you get this and read it that it could be cold, rainy, and possibly snowing again but those cold days are just about over. Everyone loves Spring, primarily because it means… summer is near!
For many across this great country though, it’s still COLD, grey, and snowy! One thing is for sure, this winter season is coming to an end. It does every year without fail.
Just like the weather seasons come and go, so do the seasons of life. I (Coleen) just turned 60, our youngest is 26 and our oldest is 30. We have been blessed with two beautiful granddaughters (two years and the younger, six months). Are you with me when I say that these seasons seem to come and go faster and faster as we get older? This month Craig and I celebrate 32 years of marriage and 42 years of friendship (we were pen pals for 10 years). We have had our share of ups and downs, hot and cold seasons. It has been God‘s faithfulness leading us, guiding us and at times, bearing us up through life’s seasons.
The truth is some of life’s seasons will be HOT and others will be COLD, some high and some low. We want the LOWs to move by quickly, the highs we’d like to hang around forever. But it’s the low points, the tough times, that I have learned, and grown the most from. All of these experiences have brought me to be the person that I am, so it is with you.

Unfortunately, there are some that will have a Spring Time they would much rather forget.
With all the beauty this Springtime brings, there is also the ugly for some. In our community of Hamilton, there are over 2,000 children that are living in impoverished conditions. For them and their families, Springtime is the furthest thing from their minds. Don’t get me wrong, these families long to see their kids out in the yard playing or riding their bikes but for many, they just cannot afford bikes and toys for the children. In fact, CityKidz sees so many kids that pray to one day have their own bike.
We strive to make a difference in our community so we have committed to supporting the great work that CityKidz does to help these kids overcome a life of poverty.
Here is a photo of myself along with many of the great people at our company proudly holding up a check for over $10,000 that we donated last year, payable to CityKidz of Hamilton. This because of so many of our great clients doing business with us and referring those they know wanting to buy and sell.
This year, we’d like to give even more!
We are on a mission to raise at least $10,000 again for CityKidz of Hamilton. We do this by donating to them a portion of our income from the homes we sell. As you know, CityKidz of Hamilton does awesome work in helping Childhood Poverty and instills resilience through weekly home visits to every child who attends their Saturday programs. Home visits provide us with the opportunity to build relationships with kids and their families and to truly show them that we care. Most don’t know though that CityKidz is a non-profit, so they depend on sponsorships and donations in order to change the future for a child in need today and for generations to come.
